Hoarfrost at Dawn

I couldn't find a picture that portrayed what I saw that lovely winter morning, but this came fairly close.

Hoarfrost at Dawn
Tree lace so fine is etched against
The daybreaks muted glow:
A ribboned streak of baby-blue
With blushing pink below.

The shining orb we call the moon
Offsets the silvered brush,
My eyes sweep round the snowy 'scape
That is so still and hushed.

I scoff to think that pen and ink
Can show such beauty, fine
Yet try I must with clumsy words
To paint this scene divine.
