We went to an open house last night. Of course all open houses are nice for one reason or another, but this one was really special. My husband’s nephew and his lovely wife were finally able to adopt a little one after I don’t know how many years. My, that little baby was passed around and admired. But you know what? We happened to have a baby boom in our congregation so there were several little babies to show off and cherish. They were all so special.
`Then I got to thinking of other ‘newborns,’ and I got misty-eyed. Every once in awhile there is a group of brand new converts who want to tell us how they also became children of the Heavenly Father. Many of them seem so young, almost too innocent to know what sin is, but they do know because their Heavenly Father has spoken to them.
When I look at them so sweet, so radiantly beautiful, I cannot help but love them. They are our newborn brothers and sisters in Christ. Let’s nurture them as carefully as we would a physical newborn.
